Caramelised orange sauce
  • 1 navel orange, juiced
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1tablespoons salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2teaspoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1tablespoons salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 2teaspoons sriracha
  • 600grams chicken thigh fillets, cut into 3cm pieces
  • 1/2 cup Woolworths cornflour
  • 1 small navel orange, sliced
  • 5milliliter extra virgin olive oil cooking spray
  • 1 spring onion, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 2teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4teaspoons dried chilli flakes

Description

This tantalisingly sweet, spicy and tangy chicken dish will have everyone coming back for seconds. Perfect for a get-together or a special occasion.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Combine soy and sriracha in a large bowl. Add chicken to sauce and stir to combine. Add cornflour and stir to coat.

Step 2 of 4

Preheat 7L air fryer to 180°C for 2 minutes. Add orange slices. Cook for 10 minutes or until golden. Set aside. Arrange half of the chicken, in a single layer, in the air-fryer basket. Spray with oil. Cook for 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and golden. Repeat with remaining chicken.

Meanwhile, to make sauce, place orange juice, sugar, soy, garlic and vinegar in a saucepan. Bring to the boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until sauce has thickened slightly and is syrupy

Transfer chicken and orange to a plate. Pour sauce over chicken. Scatter with onion, sesame seeds and chilli. Serve.
