Description

Looking for a new canape idea? Whip up these bite-size pickled apple slices with walnuts, blue cheese and thyme in just three simple steps.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Place sugar, vinegar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over low heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Remove pan from heat and allow to cool.

Step 2 of 3

Cut 1 apple into 2mm-thick slices (removing seeds) and remaining apples into 5mm-thick slices. Add both to liquid and stand for 5 minutes.

Step 3 of 3

To assemble, drain apple slices. Top each 5mm apple slice with cheese, a 2mm apple slice, walnuts, thyme and honey. Serve immediately.
