- 1/2 cup dates, pitted, chopped
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 100grams unsalted butter, cold
- 2 custard apples
- 1/4teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 400grams can sliced apples
- 500milliliter custard (to serve)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup hazelnuts, roasted, chopped

Method
Step 1 of 3
Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a 6-cup ovenproof dish.
Step 2 of 3
Break open the custard apples and, using a spoon, scoop out the flesh and discard seeds. Combine with canned apple and dates and transfer to prepared dish.
Step 3 of 3
Mix flour, oats, hazelnuts, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Coarsely grate butter over mixture. Rub butter through the dry mixture until crumble. Sprinkle crumble topping over fruit. Bake for 30 minutes until the topping is golden. Serve with warm custard or ice-cream.
