Description
Family favourite. The addition of a pear adds natural sweetness.
Method
Step 1 of 6
Oil and line 2 small pie tins with sheets of shortcrust pastry. Pierce base of each. Put to one side.
Step 2 of 6
Peel and dice apples and pear. Place in pot and mix in water, lemon juice, cinnamon and ground cloves. Lightly stew.
Step 3 of 6
Whilst fruit is cooking make crumble topping by mixing into a bowl flour, butter, milk and honey. I use my fingers to do this, until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Put to one side.
Step 4 of 6
By now the fruit should be lightly cooked, roughly 5-10 minutes. Pour fruit equally into the 2 pie tins.
Step 5 of 6
Divide crumble and place on top of the fruit. Cook in oven at 180c for approximately 30 minutes.
Step 6 of 6
Ready to eat with cream, ice cream or custard.
