For the sauce
  • 1/3 cup vegetable stock
  • 1 1/4 cup passata
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and diced
  • 1tablespoons chilli flakes
  • 4tablespoons basil, chopped
For the turkey balls
  • 500grams turkey mince
  • 70grams panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 medium egg, free range
  • 1teaspoons oregano
  • 1teaspoons sage
  • 1 medium white onion, peeled and finely diced

Description

This tomato based turkey dish is a wholesome hearty meal.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Heat up a large pot to a medium heat with all the sauce ingredients and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Step 2 of 3

In a bowl, mix all of your turkey ball ingredients together and then shape into your desired size balls. In a non-stick pan on a medium heat, fry the balls while tossing for 4 minutes.

Step 3 of 3

Remove the turkey balls from the pan and add to the sauce pot. Cover the pot and allow to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and suggested serving with rice or naan bread.
