  • 2tablespoons cornflour
  • 1/4teaspoons ground white pepper
  • 500grams beef stir-fry strips
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2tablespoons salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 2tablespoons kecap manis
  • 6 spring onions, trimmed, cut into 6cm lengths (plus extra, thinly sliced, to serve)
  • 4 cm piece ginger, peeled, finely grated
  • steamed jasmine rice (to serve)
  • 2teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted (to serve)

Description

Get ahead of weeknight dinners and fakeaway dishes with this easy-to-make beef stir-fry, ready to eat in just 25 minutes.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Combine cornflour and pepper in a bowl. Add beef and toss to coat. Heat a wok over high heat, add 1 tbs oil and swirl to coat. Stir-fry half the beef for 3 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a bowl. Cover to keep warm. Repeat with another 1 tbs oil and remaining beef.

Meanwhile, combine sauces and 2 tbs cold water in a small bowl.

Add remaining oil to wok. Stir-fry onion for 4 minutes or until softened. Add ginger and stir-fry for 1 minute or until fragrant.

Step 4 of 4

Return beef to pan with onion and add sauce mixture, then stir-fry for 2 minutes or until sauce thickens. Top rice with stir-fry, and serve scattered with sesame seeds and extra onion.
