- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 star anise
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 2 cardamom pods
- 100grams dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup biscoff spread
- 2tablespoons double thick cream
- 1 biscoff biscuit
- 1/4teaspoons cinnamon
Description
Add classic warm spices to your soothing hot cocoa to give it a little kick and wake up your senses on a cold winter's day.
Instruction tip
Cooking tip:At least double your chosen hot chocolate ingredients to make a bulk batch. Place ingredients in a 5.5L slow cooker. Cook on low, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour or until mixture is smooth and hot.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Place milk, star anise, cinnamon stick and cardamom pods in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer. Remove pan from heat and stand for 5 minutes to infuse. Remove star anise, cinnamon stick and cardamom pods.
Step 2 of 3
Heat milk mixture in pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes or until mixture is hot but not boiling. Reduce heat to low. Add chocolate and spread and whisk until smooth.
Step 3 of 3
Place cream in a small bowl. Whisk until just soft peaks form (don’t over-whisk). Divide mixture between 2 mugs. Dollop with cream and top with biscuit crumbs. Dust with cinnamon. Serve.
