- 1/3 cup cream

Description
Tender poached pears make an easy and elegant winter dessert, perfect for slow cooking.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Bring the sugar to the boil in a saucepan with 1 litre of water, cook, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup is bubbling.
Step 2 of 3
Pour the syrup into the slow cooker, add the cinnamon stick, clove and vanilla pod, place the pears in the syrup and cook on high for 5 hours with the lid on.
Step 3 of 3
Whip the cream with a vanilla extract and serve with the poached pears and syrup.
