Description
Chinese take-out can't compare to this simple and authentic slow cooker chicken chow mein.
Method
Step 1 of 3
In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of chicken stock and cornstarch. Set aside. In the slow cooker, place the rest of the stock, soy sauce, oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, ginger, onion, carrot, corn and chicken. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 3-4 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender. Stir in the cornflour mix halfway through the cooking time.
Step 2 of 3
Once the chicken is tender, cook the noodles in a pot of boiling water for 2 minutes. Add the snow peas and cook for 1 minute. Drain and rinse the noodles and snow peas with cold water. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and cut it in pieces.
Step 3 of 3
Tip the chicken, noodles and snow peas into the slow cooker. Use tongs to toss to combine. Top with the rest of sesame oil and serve.
