Description

This slow cooker mongolian beef is so easy to make and better than take out, combining thinly sliced flank steak with a sweet and salty sauce.

Method

Step 1 of 2

Set the slow cooker to high temperature. Mix the sliced flank steak together with the cornstarch coating the beef. Place a large pan with 1 tsp of sesame oil onto the stovetop setting it to high heat for 1 minute. Add the beef to the pan sear and brown on either side for 2 minutes.

Step 2 of 2

Place the remainder of the sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger and garlic paste, brown sugar and water into the slow cooker, use a whisk to mix everything together. Mix in the seared beef with the ingredients in the slow cooker, cover and cook for 2 1/2 Hours. Serve hot garnished with sliced spring onions.
