- 1teaspoons vanilla essence
- 3 cup milk
- 60grams butter, softened
- 1 nashi pear
- 1/4teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 8 slice thick white bread, crusts removed
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 50grams slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup sultanas

Method
Step 1 of 5
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Step 2 of 5
Spread the bread with butter and cut each slice into 2 triangles. Layer the bread into an 8-cup ovenproof dish.
Step 3 of 5
Cut the nashi pear into quarters and remove the core. Slice into thin wedges. Tuck slices in amongst the bread. Sprinkle with sultanas.
Step 4 of 5
Whisk eggs with sugar and vanilla. Add milk and whisk to combine. Gently pour over bread. Sprinkle with nutmeg and then almonds. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Step 5 of 5
Bake for 1 hour until custard has set and top is golden. Serve.
