Description
Try Japanese-style fried chicken with this flavourful karaage chicken recipe.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Cut chicken in small bite size pieces and marinate with garlic, ginger, mayo, oyster sauce, white vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, chilli flakes, chives and cumin for 30 min-overnight in fridge. If you marinate for longer, you get more flavour.
Step 2 of 5
After marinated for at least 30 min, heat oil in pot or deep frying pan. Add 2 tbs plain flour into marinated chicken and mixing until light battery. If it's too powdery add 1-2 tsp of water.
Step 3 of 5
Put half a cup corn flour in cereal bowl then dust chicken.
Step 4 of 5
Deep fry until they become golden brown.
Step 5 of 5
Serve with mayo or sriracha sauce or sweet chilli sauce for dip, or on rice with swirl bbq sauce and mayo, chopped spring onion on.
Instruction tip
Create a tasty chicken bowl with steamed rice, a swirl of bbq sauce, mayo and chopped spring onion.
