  • 1tablespoons butter (room temp)
  • 3tablespoons water, boiling
  • 90grams unsalted butter , room temp
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup plain flour , sifted
  • 3teaspoons custard powder
  • 1teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 egg (room temp)
  • 1 1/2 cup Icing Mixture

Description

A delicious hint of custard in these biscuits, enjoy with a cuppa for morning or afternoon Tea.

Method

Step 1 of 6

Gather all ingredients together. Preheat oven 170 degrees fan forced. Grease and line 2 baking trays.

Step 2 of 6

Into a large bowl add butter and sugar, beat until light and creamy. Add egg and Vanilla. Beat again until well incorporated.

Step 3 of 6

Add in dry ingredients and mix. It looks a little dry. But the mixture will come together.

Step 4 of 6

Roll mixture into small balls and space apart on baking trays. gently flatten the tops with a floured fork.

Step 5 of 6

Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly golden (each oven is different). Remove from Oven, cool on trays for 5 minutes. Then cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 6 of 6

ICING DIRECTIONS - Into a small bowl, add icing mixture, custard powder and butter. Then enough boiling water to reach desired consistency. I use a disposable piping bag to pipe on the icing, but a palette knife works just as well.
