  • 180grams flour
  • 1/2teaspoons allspice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 100grams caster sugar
  • 50grams dark sugar
  • 110grams unsalted butter
  • 1/2teaspoons almond essence
  • 100grams dates, chopped
  • 50grams toffee, chopped

Description

These sweet sticky treats are rich and decadent.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. In a mixing bowl, combine the butter with the sugar, salt, almond essense and salt.

Step 2 of 5

Incremently add the flour and all spice while mixing. Add the chopped dates and toffee pieces.

Step 3 of 5

Allow the mix to set for 20 minutes before seperating into 10 balls.

Step 4 of 5

Now flatten the balls into your desired cookie shapes and place on a baking sheet on a baking tray.

Step 5 of 5

Bake for 15 minutes but check after 12 minutes if they are ready based on how chewy you want them and thickness you shaped.
