Description

This recipe swaps burger buns for a crunchy no-carb alternative. Load up lettuce with sliced pickled gherkin, sliced tomato, a juicy beef patty and red onion for delicious healthier burger wraps.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place fries on tray and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden-brown. Tear bread into large pieces, then process to make fine crumbs. Transfer to a large bowl. Add mince, lentils, egg, garlic and paprika, then mix well. Shape into 8 equal patties.

Step 2 of 4

Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Spray patties with oil. Cook patties, in 2 batches, for 4 minutes each side or until cooked and browned. Transfer to a plate.

Step 3 of 4

Separate leaves from lettuce and trim base of each leaf slightly.

Step 4 of 4

Using a small sharp knife, thinly slice tomatoes. Place lettuce on serving plates. Top each leaf with 2 gherkin slices, 1 tomato slice, 1 patty and some onion. Drizzle with dressing. Season with pepper. Serve with fries.
