  • 100grams dark chocolate, keep 20g for garnish and grate into shards
  • 4 medium figs, diced
  • 20grams pistachio, smashed
  • 1/3-plus 1 tsp cup whipped cream, whipped
  • 4teaspoons water
  • 100grams sponge fingers
  • 60grams dark sugar
  • 2tablespoons orange juice

Description

A festive take on a traditional trifle with some extra crunch.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Heat up a pot to a medium heat and melt 80g of chocolate with the double cream and then remove from the heat to cool.

Step 2 of 5

In a another small pot on a medium heat, cook the figs, water, sugar and orange juice until the sugar has melted and allow to cool.

Step 3 of 5

Prepare your individual pots or 1 large bowl by layering as below. At the base, place the sponge fingers.

Next add the fig mixture. Now add the chocolate cream.

Step 5 of 5

Whip the whipping cream to peaks with the crushed pistachios and place that on top of the fig mix. Garnish with the 20g of chocolate shards before serving.
