  • 500grams mixed mushrooms, washed, drained and chopped
  • 1 medium white onion, peeled and diced
  • 70grams butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and diced
  • 40grams walnuts, chopped
  • 1teaspoons rosemary, chopped
  • 1teaspoons oregano, chopped
  • 1teaspoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch cracked black pepper
  • 2teaspoons olive oil

Description

A creamy, earthy paté with nutty flavours.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Roast the chopped walnuts in the oven for 5 minutes and then remove from the oven.

Step 2 of 5

Heat up a pan to medium heat and fry the mushrooms, onion and garlic and 8 minutes while tossing.

Step 3 of 5

Add the rest of the ingredients and continue to fry for a further 3 minutes.

Step 4 of 5

Remove from the heat and allow to cool before you add to a food processor and blend with the butter until smooth.

Step 5 of 5

Boil a suitable storage container to sterilise it before adding your paté mix to it. Allow to set in the fridge up to 2 hours before serving.
