Description
This French classic is easy to rustle up from a few store, cupboard and fridge essentials.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Preheat the oven to 180°C (Gas 4). Butter a 28 x 20 x 5cm ovenproof dish.
Step 2 of 4
Place the eggs and vanilla sugar or caster sugar in a large bowl and whisk with an electric hand-held whisk until light and fluffy, then fold in the flour. Pour in the melted butter and whisk until well combined. Add the milk and stir well.
Step 3 of 4
Arrange the cherries in the ovenproof dish and pour the batter over. Sprinkle the almonds on top and place the dish on a baking tray.
Step 4 of 4
Bake the clafoutis for 30-35 minutes, until risen and golden brown. Dust with icing sugar and serve with whipped cream.
