Braised Brisket Chilli

- 700grams beef brisket, cut into 5cm chunks
- 1teaspoons sea salt
- 1teaspoons cracked black pepper
- 1tablespoons olive oil
- 1 brown onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2teaspoons ground cumin
- 2teaspoons ground coriander
- 1tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1/2teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 quill cinnamon
- 1 star anise
- 3 bay leaves
- 400grams canned cherry tomatoes
- 2tablespoons brown sugar
- 3tablespoons chipotle in adobo
- 1/4teaspoons sea salt (for sauce)
- 1L water, boiling
- 2tablespoons Beef Bone Broth Concentrate Natural Beef
- 2 cans black beans, rinsed & drained
- 80grams dark chocolate
- 1teaspoons fresh coriander (to serve)
- 1 lime juiced (to serve)
- 1teaspoons feta, sprinkle (to serve)
- 1 avocado (to serve)
- 1 cup basmati rice (to serve)
- 1 cup corn chips (to serve)
Method
Step 1 of 10
Season and brown brisket in a large pot.
Step 2 of 10
Add diced onion & crushed garlic to the pot and cook until softened.
Step 3 of 10
Remove brisket, onion & garlic from the pot and toast spices until aromatic.
Step 4 of 10
Add tomatoes, brown sugar, salt, boiling water & Beef Bone Broth to the pot.
Step 5 of 10
Return brisket, ensure the brisket is covered with liquid & simmer for 4 hours.
Step 6 of 10
At the 4 hour mark, add beans and chocolate, continue to simmer for another hour.
Step 7 of 10
Remove brisket from pot, pull apart using two forks until it becomes shredded, and cover with a little braising sauce while reducing the rest of the sauce mixture in a pan over medium heat until it thickens slightly. Taste and season, adding salt or brown sugar if needed.

Return pulled brisket to the pot with the reduced sauce.
Step 9 of 10
Top with coriander, lime and feta.
Step 10 of 10
Serve with avocado, cooked rice & corn chips.
