For the burger
  • 400grams black beans, drained
  • 1 medium red onion, peeled and diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and mashed
  • 1tablespoons chilli flakes
  • 60grams panko bread crumbs
  • 70grams mashed potato, prepared
For the topping
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 40grams rocket
  • 1 medium red onion, peeled and diced
  • 4tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 2tablespoons canola oil
  • 4 medium gluten free sourdough kaiser buns, sliced in half

Method

Step 1 of 5

Empty the black beans into a bowl and drain the liquid, lightly mash with the potato masher.

Step 2 of 5

Combine the rest of the burger ingredients with the mashed beans.

Step 3 of 5

Once the mixture is combine fully, divide into 4 patties and tightly pack together.

Step 4 of 5

Heat up a pan to a medium heat, add the oil and then fry the burgers for 10 minutes, flip over and cook for a further 10 minutes.

Step 5 of 5

Toast your buns for 3 minutes and then serve with the burgers and BBQ sauce and toppings.
