After a quick and easy dessert? Whip up this one-bowl chocolate cake recipe in just three easy steps. It's sure to be a hit.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Preheat oven to 190°C/170°C fan-forced. Grease a 20cm (7cm deep) round cake pan. Line base and side with baking paper.

Step 2 of 3

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add egg, oil and sour cream, whisking to combine. Add coffee and whisk until batter is smooth. Pour mixture into pan. Tap gently against the counter to release any air bubbles. Bake for 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into centre comes out clean.

Step 3 of 3

Stand in pan for 10 minutes to cool slightly before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Top with frosting and serve.
