  • 1tablespoons milk

Easy damper for Australia Day

Method

Step 1 of 8

Preheat oven 200 degrees C

Step 2 of 8

Combine flour and salt in a large bowl.

Step 3 of 8

Rub cubed butter with fingertips into flour, until mixture looks like breadcrumbs.

Step 4 of 8

Add water and milk to flour mixture. Use a bread knife to mix. Add a little more water if mixture is a little dry.

Step 5 of 8

Turn dough onto a floured board and gently knead for 2 minutes until smooth.

Step 6 of 8

Shape into a round circle about 15cm in diameter and place on a baking tray lined with paper. Dust with flour.

Step 7 of 8

Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked. Place on a rack to slightly cool.

Step 8 of 8

Serve warm with butter and golden syrup. Enjoy.
