Description

You won't have plain French fries again after loading them up with melted cheese and warm mushroom sauce. This recipe is the ultimate comfort appetiser.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Preheat oven to 200°C. Line two baking trays with baking paper. Spread fries in a single layer across both prepared trays. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden, turning fries after 10 minutes.

Step 2 of 3

Meanwhile, heat butter in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook for 1 minute or until melted. Add flour, stir with a spatula until smooth, and cook for a further 1 minute. Add soup, stir well to combine and cook for 3 minutes or until thickened. Keep warm.

Step 3 of 3

Season fries, then transfer to a 20cm ovenproof dish. Top with cheese and bake for 7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and starting to brown. Top with warm mushroom sauce and sprinkle with parsley and serve immediately.
