4 Ingredients
- 500grams strawberries, hulled, quartered
- 2tablespoons Woolworths caster sugar
- 1/4 cup white condiment (white balsamic vinegar)
- 1/4 bunch basil, leaves picked
Description
This versatile fruity condiment is simple to make and will enhance your meal with irresistible flavour. Pair balsamic strawberries with brie cheese, pancakes, yoghurt or ice-cream.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Place strawberries, sugar and vinegar in a bowl, then gently toss to combine. Set aside, at room temperature, for 30 minutes to macerate and allow juices to develop.
Step 2 of 4
Layer basil leaves into a stack, roll up vertically, then thinly slice lengthways to form thin ribbons.
Step 3 of 4
Add basil to strawberry mixture, stirring gently to combine.
Step 4 of 4
Store strawberry mixture in a 2-cup-capacity glass jar and keep in the fridge for up to 4 days. (Any longer than this and they will start to lose their sweet flavour.) Serve spooned over toast spread with ricotta or over yoghurt and topped with dry roasted nuts.
