  • 395grams sweetened condensed milk
  • 180grams milk chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 140grams unsalted butter, coarsely chopped
  • 250grams plain wheat biscuits
  • 100grams salted pretzels
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
  • 180grams dark chocolate, coarsely chopped

Description

Walnuts, salted pretzels and chocolate make for a flavour combo that you won't stop eating, especially in this nutty hedgehog slice.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Grease and line a 22cm (base) square cake pan with baking paper, allowing paper to overhang opposite sides for handles.

Step 2 of 5

Place condensed milk, milk chocolate and 100g butter in a large heavy-based saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until melted and smooth.

Step 3 of 5

Pulse biscuits and half of the pretzels in a food processor until coarse crumbs form. Stir into chocolate mixture until just combined, then stir in walnuts until combined.

Spoon mixture into prepared pan and level surface. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm.

Step 5 of 5

Place dark chocolate and remaining 40g butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until melted and smooth. Spread dark chocolate over top of slice. Top with remaining pretzels. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until dark chocolate sets. Cut into pieces to serve.
