  • 80grams unsalted butter, melted, cooled
  • 1 free range egg
  • 180grams block hazelnut milk chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 1L vanilla ice-cream

Description

Rich and gooey, this indulgent chocolate hazelnut self-saucing pudding ticks all the boxes. Balance out the intense chocolate flavours with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 1.5L-capacity ovenproof baking dish.

Step 2 of 4

Sift flour and half of the cocoa into a large bowl. Stir in half of the sugar. Place milk, butter and egg in a jug and lightly whisk to combine. Add milk mixture to flour mixture. Stir until smooth and combined. Fold through chocolate.

Step 3 of 4

Spoon pudding mixture into baking dish. Smooth top. Combine remaining cocoa powder and sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle over pudding.

Step 4 of 4

Slowly pour 1 1/4 cups boiling water over the back of a large metal spoon to cover pudding. Place dish onto a baking tray. Bake for 35 minutes or until pudding bounces back when pressed gently in the centre. Serve pudding immediately with ice-cream.
