  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • 400grams chopped tomatoes
  • 6 sheets fresh lasagne, halved
  • 50grams parmesan, grated
  • 200grams mozzarella

Description

If you don't have the time to make a proper lasagna, this open version is quicker and just as satisfying.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Bring a large pot of water to the boil and cook the lasagna sheets for 4 minutes. Drain well.

Step 2 of 4

Heat the oil in a large pan and cook the onion for 5 minutes, add the beef and pork mince and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 3 of 4

Pour over the wine, bubble for 1-2 minutes until reduced. Add the chopped tomatoes and a tin of water, bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes until reduced.

Step 4 of 4

On a large baking sheet place 4 lasagna sheet pieces and brush with oil. Top with the meat sauce and torn mozzarella. Repeat with a second layer and third layer. Finish with parmesan and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
