Description

Nutritional yeast gives popcorn a delicious cheesy flavour but is a vegan friendly alternative.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Heat the coconut oil in a large, deep pan on a medium high heat. Add 2-3 kernels to the pan and once they begin to pop, add the remaining kernels in a single layer to the pan.

Step 2 of 4

Cover the pan with a lid and shake well to coat all the kernels with oil.

Step 3 of 4

Leave on the heat until the kernels start to pop, then shake well every few seconds to prevent burning and evenly cook the kernels. Once the popping slows down to 1-2 kernels a minute remove from the heat.

Step 4 of 4

Stir in the nutritional yeast and cracked black pepper, shake with the lid on to coat well and serve warm.
