  • 300grams Woolworths spaghetti
  • 800grams Woolworths Italian diced tomatoes with basil & onion
  • 2teaspoons Woolworths Italian dried herbs
  • 840grams Woolworths no-added-salt lentils, drained, rinsed
  • 1/4 bunch continental parsley (optional), leaves picked, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Woolworths shaved parmesan (optional)

Description

Make the most of pantry ingredients in this speedy, budget-friendly vegetarian boglonese. The hearty dish will become an instant family favourite.

Lentils can be replaced with any canned beans, 500g firm tofu or 500g beef or pork mince.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water for 12 minutes or until tender. Drain.

Step 2 of 4

Meanwhile, combine canned tomatoes and dried herbs in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until mixture comes to the boil.

Step 3 of 4

Add pasta to lentil mixture, then toss to combine. Divide amongst bowls. Serve topped with parsley and parmesan if using.
