Instruction tip

Method
Step 1 of 6
Gather all ingredients together. In an ovenproof pan on low temperature, heat EVOO, add onion, garlic and capsicum and cook for 5 minutes or until softened.
Step 2 of 6
Increase heat to medium - high, add mince, breaking up any lumps, season with salt & pepper if desired, stir for 3-4 minutes or until browned all over. Add spices and tomato paste, cook for 2 minutes. Add wine if using and cook until the alcohol cooks off, about a minute.
Step 3 of 6
Add tomatoes and stock, stir well and lastly add the carrot, mix well again.
Step 4 of 6
Put on a lid, turn down heat and simmer for 30 minutes, the last 15 minutes take lid off to allow sauce to thicken to your liking.
Step 5 of 6
Slice the garlic bread all the way through, arrange on top of the sauce, pressing down into the sauce slightly, then sprinkle cheese over the top.
Step 6 of 6
Bake at 200°C or 180°C fan, for about 15 minutes or until garlic bread is toasty and cheese has melted. Warning - will be extremely hot, so cool slightly. Different ovens have differing cooking times.
