Method

Step 1 of 4

Place milk, thickened cream and spices in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.

Step 2 of 4

Meanwhile, hand whisk eggs and sugar together in a large bowl until mixture is pale.

Step 3 of 4

Add milk mixture to egg mixture, whisking to combine. Refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight, if time permits.

Step 4 of 4

Add bourbon to milk and egg mixture, then whisk until frothy. Pour among glasses. Top with a dollop of whipped cream, if using, and sprinkle over extra cinnamon, then serve.
