  • 2-3 drops red gel food colouring
  • 3-4 drops yellow gel food colouring
  • 2-3 drops blue gel food colouring
  • 12 Woolworths cinnamon doughnuts
  • 1packets orange sprinkles 25g

  • 1packets green sprinkles 25g
  • 1/2packets candy eyeballs 25g

Description

Break out a packet of doughnuts and decorate with colourful icings, pretzel legs and candy eyeballs for "spiders" more cute (and delicious) than scary.

Instruction tip
Swap tip:

If you have shredded coconut on hand, use that instead of sprinkles.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Divide icing sugar equally between 2 bowls. Add enough milk (start with 1 tbs) to each to make a smooth, slightly runny icing. Add red and yellow food colouring to one of the icings to tint orange. Add blue gel and remaining yellow to remaining icing to tint green.

Step 2 of 3

Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. To make the orange spiders, drizzle 6 doughnuts with orange icing to cover tops. Place on 1 prepared tray. Decorate with orange sprinkles. Break 16 pretzels in half, then position in doughnuts to resemble legs. Using half of the candy eyeballs, position eyeballs on tops of doughnuts to form eyes. Let set.

Step 3 of 3

To make the green spiders, drizzle remaining doughnuts with green icing to cover tops. Place on remaining prepared tray. Decorate with green sprinkles. Break 16 pretzels in half, then position in doughnuts to resemble legs. Position remaining candy eyeballs on tops of doughnuts to form eyes. Let set.
