Description

Get the party started with a brilliant burger board. Let guests build their own burger with all the best trimmings and a side of parmesan fries.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Combine pickling liquid and red onion in a medium bowl. Set aside until required.

Step 2 of 5

Place bacon, in a single layer, on 1 side of tray. Spread chips over remaining side of tray. Bake for 25 minutes or until bacon and chips are golden. Transfer bacon to a plate. Sprinkle chips with parmesan, then bake for 5 minutes or until parmesan has melted and is golden.

Step 3 of 5

Meanwhile, to make the caramelised onion, place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until onion is very tender. Increase heat to high and cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring, or until onion is golden and has caramelised.

Step 4 of 5

Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Cook beef burgers according to packet instructions.

Step 5 of 5

Drain red onion mixture. Arrange chips, bacon, caramelised onion, pickled onion, burgers, buns, tomato, beetroot, tasty cheese, lettuce, pickles and sauces on a large platter. Serve.
