  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 baby carrot , steamed (to serve)
  • 1 bunch asparagus, steamed (to serve)
  • 80grams button mushrooms, sliced
  • 5milliliter virgin olive oil spray
  • 500grams slow cooked beef bourguignon
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1 sheet frozen shortcrust pastry, thawed

Method

Step 1 of 3

Preheat oven to 220°C. Place a baking tray in the oven to preheat. Grease two 3/4-cup capacity pie dishes with oil spray.

Step 2 of 3

Cut two 15cm rounds from pastry sheets. Use the shortcrust pastry to line pie dishes. Stir mushrooms into beef mixture, then fill the pie bases. Brush pastry edges with water. Cover the meat with the puff pastry rounds and press edges together with a fork to seal. Trim excess pastry. Brush tops with egg and cut a small cross in the centre of each pie to allow steam to escape.

Place pies on the hot baking tray and bake for 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden. Serve with steamed veggies.
