- 8-12 ripe figs
- 4 large oranges, peeled and cut into thick slices
- 12tablespoons Amaretto liqueur
- 1/4 cup sweet white wine
- 4tablespoons caster sugar
- 150grams mascarpone cheese, lightly beaten
- 4tablespoons pistachio nuts, finely chopped
Description
This baked amaretto figs recipe pairs juicy, sweet figs with zesty oranges, rich liquor and creamy mascarpone topped with nutty pistachios. A dessert set to impress.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Trim the end of the stalks from each fig and cut in half.
Step 2 of 5
Place the orange slices in a shallow ovenproof dish and top with the fig halves.
Step 3 of 5
Mix together the amaretto, wine and sugar and pour over the fruit mixture. Cover loosely with foil and bake in a preheated oven, 200°C, Gas Mark 6, for 10-12 minutes.
Step 4 of 5
Divide the mixture between 4 warmed plates and spoon over the syrup from the dish.
Step 5 of 5
Serve with a big dollop of mascarpone cheese and sprinkle over the pistachios.
