- 8 Woolworths apple & cinnamon hot cross buns, each bun sliced into 4 pieces
- 3 Jazz apples, cored, thinly sliced crossways
- 4 free range eggs
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 300milliliter thickened cream
- 2teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2tablespoons demerara sugar

Description
Use hot cross buns to give your traditional bread and butter pudding recipe a twist. This apple bun and butter pudding version is ready in three easy steps.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Preheat oven to 190°C/170°C fan-forced. Lightly grease a 20cm (5cm deep) round ovenproof dish.
Step 2 of 3
Generously spread bun slices with butter. Arrange bun slices and apple in rows in dish.
Step 3 of 3
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, caster sugar, cream and vanilla. Pour custard mixture evenly over bun slices and apple to cover. Stand until mixture is almost completely absorbed. Sprinkle over demerara sugar, then bake for 45 minutes or until golden and custard is set. Serve.
