  • 2 cinnamon donuts
  • 2 cup self-raising flour
  • 155grams butter, softened (save 30g extra butter melted)
  • 300milliliter sour cream
  • 2 pink lady apples
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar

Method

Step 1 of 3

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 20x30cm shallow slice pan and line with baking paper, leaving the sides to overhang.

Step 2 of 3

Beat butter and sugar together until pale and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in flour and sour cream until combined. Transfer to pan and smooth surface. Quarter, core and thinly slice the apples. Arrange apple over cake base, overlapping slightly.

Step 3 of 3

Crumble donuts into a bowl. Add pecans and extra butter and mix well. Scatter over apple. Bake for 50 minutes or until cooked and golden. Cool in pan. Cut into squares to serve.
