Description
Walnut stuffed prunes are often enjoyed around Christmas time in Ukraine, but are delicious at any time of year.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Add the sugar, red wine and 250ml of hot water together in a saucepan and whisk until the sugar dissolves. Add the prunes and bring to the boil. Remove the prunes from the syrup and dry on kitchen paper.
Step 2 of 3
Set aside to cool for up to an hour. Tip the walnuts into a large dry pan on medium heat and toast for 4 minutes, tossing regularly.
Step 3 of 3
Stuff each prune with half of a toasted walnut. Divide the prunes between 4 serving dishes and top with sour cream. Place in the fridge for 2 hours and serve.
