Description
If you're not sure what to do with tofu, this is a great easy recipe to try.
Instruction tip
This recipe is very forgiving, feel free to add extra ingredients or adjust the amount of chili paste to your liking! If you don't love spicy food, use the sweet chili sauce instead. However, the Ketjap manis is key!
Method
Step 1 of 4
Cut tofu into small/medium cubes, mine are usually 2 cm x 2 cm but a bit smaller is fine too.
Step 2 of 4
Add the tofu cubes to a bowl and add remaining ingredients and combine. Let this marinade for as long as possible but at least 10 min (overnight is fine too).
Step 3 of 4
Add some oil to a wok and heat on high heat. Add tofu cubes (be careful as it does splatter!) and let it cook without stirring for about 3min. Then stir occasionally. You want to create a bit of a "burned" outside so that it gets crispy and sticky. The great thing about tofu is that you can't undercook it, and from my experience it hardly ever burns or overcooks! So just keep going until it's browned and a bit crispy looking.
Step 4 of 4
Serve! We love to eat this with satay sauce and rice and veg.
