Description

No summer soiree is complete without sangria, a refreshing fruity cocktail made with brandy, dry white wine, soda water, and dehydrated citrus, apple and strawberries.
Instruction tip
Swap tip:
To make non-alcoholic sangria, use apple juice instead of brandy and dry white wine.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Preheat oven to 90°C/70°C fan-forced. Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper. Place the slices of orange, lemon, apple and strawberries, 1cm apart, on trays.

Step 2 of 5

Bake for 5 hours, turning fruit halfway through, or until dehydrated. Set aside to cool completely.

Step 3 of 5

Place sugar in a 2-cup-capacity glass jar with a wide rim. Top with dehydrated citrus, apple and strawberries. Seal lid. Tie with a ribbon or twine and attach a gift tag with serving instructions.

Step 4 of 5

To serve, open jar and add brandy. Allow to infuse overnight in the fridge, shaking and turning occasionally.

Step 5 of 5

Then, decant into a large serving jug and add wine, soda water and ice cubes.
