Miso dressing
- 1/4 cup ponzu sauce
- 1tablespoons salt-reduced soy sauce
- 1teaspoons white miso paste
- 2teaspoons sesame oil
- 450grams Macro perfectly firm tofu, drained
- 1/3 cup cornflour
- 1 free range egg
- 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/3 cup sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup tricolour quinoa
- 1 cup vegetable oil, for shallow frying
- 1/4 bunch spring onion, sliced
Description
Perfect for a light lunch or dinner, this speedy Japanese-inspired recipe is a delicious way to enjoy tofu. The miso dressing gives it a rich, umami flavour.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Cut tofu into 8 slices in total. Drain on paper towel or a clean tea towel for 10 minutes.
Step 2 of 4
Place cornflour and egg in separate shallow bowls. Lightly whisk egg. In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, sesame seeds and quinoa. Dip tofu into cornflour, followed by egg, and then into sesame mixture to coat.
Step 3 of 4
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook for 1-2 minutes each side or until golden and crispy.
Step 4 of 4
To make dressing, whisk together ingredients until combined. Sprinkle with onion. Serve tofu with dressing.
