Description

This sweet and savoury seared beef salad is delicious with green papaya, if you can get it.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Place the beef fillets in a shallow dish and pour over the soy sauce, honey and 1 clove of garlic. Cover and marinade for 30 minutes.

Step 2 of 5

Place the shredded carrot and papaya in a bowl of ice water and leave to soak for 15 minutes.

Step 3 of 5

Whisk the fish sauce, lime juice, chilli, garlic and a tablespoon of chopped mint together in a small bowl.

Step 4 of 5

Heat a griddle pan on high and sear the beef for 1-2 minutes each side, set aside to rest for 5 minutes then slice thinly.

Step 5 of 5

Drain the papaya and carrot and toss with the dressing. Serve with sliced beef fillet, chopped mint and chopped peanuts on top.
