  • 2 sheet frozen puff pastry
  • 600grams cans baked beans
  • 1/2 cup flat-leaf parsley, roughly chopped
  • 1tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1 cup tasty cheese, grated
  • 6 traditional beef sausages

Method

Step 1 of 2

Preheat oven to 200°C. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add sausages and cook for 8 minutes, turning often, until browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove from pan and slice thinly.

Step 2 of 2

Combine sausage, beans, cheese and parsley in a bowl. Spoon into 4 x 11/3 cup-capacity ovenproof dishes. Cut pastry into 1.5cm wide strips. Weave strips of pastry forming a lattice pattern. Place over pie filling, trimming excess. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden and puffed. Serve immediately.
