- 20grams unsalted butter, finely chopped
- 3 Pink Lady apples, halved, cut into thick wedges
- 1/2 cup Woolworths pure maple syrup
- 1 1/2 cups traditional rolled oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1L milk
- 1/2 cup dry roasted almonds, coarsely chopped
- 125grams blueberries
- 1/2 cup honey-roasted nut granola
Description
Set and forget on this creamy porridge, which is packed with the delicious flavours of maple, apple and almond and topped with crunchy granola.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Press switch to ‘cook’ mode on a 10-cup-capacity rice cooker. Add butter and cook for 1-2 minutes or until melted. Add apple and maple syrup. Cover with lid. Cook, turning and stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes or until apples caramelise. Transfer apples to a bowl, reserving liquid in a separate bowl.

Add oats, sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon to rice-cooker bowl. Stir to combine. Add milk and cover with a lid. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until oats are tender and mixture is thick.
Step 3 of 3
Spoon porridge into bowls. Top with apple, almonds, blueberries and granola. Serve sprinkled with remaining cinnamon and drizzled with reserved apple liquid.
