How to blanch asparagus

Step 1: Boil a large pan of water. Prep the asparagus by trimming the tough ends about 2-3cm. Make an ice bath in a large bowl.

Step 2: Add asparagus to boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bright green and just tender.

Step 3: Using tongs or a slotted spoon, transfer asparagus into the ice bath to stop the cooking.
