  • 1 brown onion, diced
  • 1/3 cup parsley, chopped
  • 2 sheet frozen ready-rolled 25% reduced fat puff pastry, partially thawed*
  • 1tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2teaspoons sea salt flakes
  • 3/4 cup walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cup creamed cottage cheese (97% fat free)

Method

Step 1 of 3

Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Process cottage cheese, walnuts, onion, eggs and sauce in a food processor until finely chopped. Transfer to a large bowl. Add oats, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Step 2 of 3

Place a sheet of pastry onto a flat surface. Cut in half. Spoon 1/4 of the cheese mixture along 1 long edge of pastry. Roll pastry, enclosing filling. Cut into 5 small sausage rolls. Using the flat edge of a knife, form 3 ridges along each sausage roll. Transfer to prepared tray. Repeat with remaining filling and pastry.

Brush sausage rolls with the egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake for 25 minutes or until sausage rolls are golden and cooked through. Serve.
