  • 420grams Woolworths no-added-salt chickpeas, rinsed, drained
  • 1/4 cup light Greek-style natural yoghurt
  • 1 large carrot, peeled
  • 1packets 3 colour traffic light capsicums
  • 1/4 sheet nori
  • 2 Woolworths multigrain brown rice crackers

Description

Gather your pride and indulge in this majestic hummus dip. Featuring an adorable Simba-inspired veggie face, it makes a delightful centrepiece for family nights.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Place chickpeas and yoghurt in a small food processor. Process until smooth. Season with pepper. Transfer to a small bowl.

Step 2 of 5

Cut carrot in half crossways. Cut each half into batons. Trim the bottom from the yellow and red capscums and reserve (this will be used to form Simba’s face). Cut red, yellow and green capsicum into 1cm-thick strips.

Step 3 of 5

Place the hummus bowl on a serving board or table. Using the picture as a guide and leaving a 2cm-wide border around the edge of the bowl, arrange green capsicum strips around the bowl to form a foliage outline. Using the picture as a guide, arrange carrot and yellow and red capsicum strips, just touching the edge of the bowl, to form Simba’s mane.

Step 4 of 5

Cut 2 x 2cm rounds from nori to form eyes. Cut 3 x 3cm-long, thin strips from nori to form outlines around Simba’s cheeks and mouth. Cut 2 x slightly rounded 3cm-long, thin strips from nori to form eyebrows. Using reserved yellow capsicum and the picture as a guide, cut 3 rounded pieces to form Simba’s cheeks and chin. Cut 1 rounded red capsicum piece to form Simba’s nose.

Step 5 of 5

Using the picture as a guide, arrange crackers in the hummus to form ears. Using the picture as a guide, arrange nori eyes on hummus, followed by capsicum pieces to form nose, cheeks and chin. Using the picture as a guide, arrange nori eyebrows and thin strips to form outlines around the mouth and cheeks. Serve.
