  • 4 slices white sourdough
  • 20grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup Woolworths shredded mozzarella
  • 1 Kanzi® apple, cored, thinly sliced
  • 2tablespoons caramelised onion
  • 2 thin slices prosciutto
  • 5mL extra virgin olive oil cooking spray
  • 10 sage leaves

Description

Elevate your toastie game with this decadent (but super simple) toasted sandwich, packed with crunchy apple, salty prosciutto and oozy cheese. Order up!

Method

Step 1 of 2

Place bread on a chopping board. Spread butter over 4 slices of bread. Flip 2 slices over and top with half each of the mozzarella, apple, onion and prosciutto. Top each slice with 2 torn sage leaves. Sandwich with remaining slices, butter-side up.

Step 2 of 2

Place sandwiches in a large frying pan over medium heat or in a preheated sandwich press. Spray remaining sage with oil. Cook sandwiches for 5 minutes or until mozzarella has melted and bread is golden-brown and toasted, adding sage to the pan for the last 2 minutes of cooking time. Cut toasties in half. Serve scattered with crispy sage.
