Chocolate Donut Balls
  • 480grams Green’s Temptations Baked Choc Donut Balls
Chocolate Icing
  • 250grams unsalted butter (softened)
Chocolate Mud Cake
  • 2 Green’s Temptations Chocolate Mud Cake Mix
  • 3 free range eggs (lightly beaten)

Method

Step 1 of 6

Preheat oven to 160°C, then lightly spray 2 x 20cm round cake pans with oil and line bases with baking paper.

To make the chocolate mud cake, prepare and bake cake mixes, reserving icing sachets, according to packet instructions. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 5 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks to cool completely. Trim tops to level cakes.

Meanwhile, to make the choc donut balls, prepare, bake, fill and coat donut balls according to packet instructions.

To make the chocolate icing, whip butter with an electric mixer until pale and creamy. Add one reserved icing sachet and mix until thoroughly combined. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a 1cm-round tip. Place one cake onto a cake board, cut-side up. Pipe large dollops of icing on top, then gently sandwich with remaining cake, cut-side down.

To make the chocolate glaze, follow packet instructions using the remaining reserved icing sachet. Pour onto centre of cake and spread to edges.

Pile cake with donut balls and serve with extra balls on the side.
