  • 1 sheet frozen Woolworths puff pastry, just thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
  • 150milliliter Woolworths sour cream
  • 1tablespoons horseradish cream
  • 1 lemon, zest finely grated, juiced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 100grams Woolworths smoked salmon
  • 1/2 punnet dill, sprigs picked

Description

This everything smoked salmon tart will steal your heart! If you aren’t won over by the tantalising filling topped with smoked salmon, the flaky crust and a medley of herbs and spices will seal the deal.

Use remaining dill and sour cream to make an easy potato salad by tossing with steamed, cooled baby potatoes.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Place pastry on prepared tray. Using a sharp knife, score a 1.5cm-wide border on the pastry without cutting all the way through. Using a fork, prick inside the border. Brush border with egg. Sprinkle with seasoning. Bake for 12 minutes or until pastry is puffed and golden.

Meanwhile, combine sour cream, horseradish and 1 tbs lemon juice in a small bowl. Season with freshly cracked black pepper. Combine onion and remaining lemon juice in a separate bowl.

Step 3 of 4

Remove pastry from oven. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool. Use a clean tea towel to press down on the centre of the pastry, leaving the border puffed.

Step 4 of 4

Spread the centre with the sour-cream mixture. Top with salmon and onion. Sprinkle with lemon zest, dill and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve.
